Extraordinary situations demand extraordinary solutions. Years of turmoil in Kashmir followed by recent Covid lockdown has shattered the people financially. Members of the lower middle class are finding it difficult to meet both the ends. Hundreds of people working as daily wagers or in private sector lost their jobs rendering them penniless. Add to it the miseries caused to the families of chronic patients who were finding it difficult to arrange the medicines and other medicare facilities for them. People suffering from diseases like cancer, kidney failures, heart ailments etc were not able to buy high cost medicines from the open market. This is when some volunteers joined hands to help such patients and their families. From here started a journey in the service of humanity.
During our work in the field, it was found that family members of chronic patients were worst sufferers because of all the finances and funds diverted to the ailing person. These families had children whose education was suffering and marriageable girls who were getting ignored. Al Haleef Trust took upon itself the responsibility of getting these girls married. Also the education of the children is being taken care of. Please go to the relevant link for details.
